Why does Indian spec a compression check every 10k miles?

My wife recently purchased a Chieftain Limited, and found it interesting that they spec having to check the engine compression every 10k miles as part of maintenance routine. Typically don't do that unless it isn't running right, has high miles, etc. Can anyone explain the rationale behind this?

    Regards,
    Mike

Can't explain it, but I want one done on my BBK. I'm concerned that I'm getting some blow by.

Stated by the manual or by the dealership and is it used or new?

    Spill your guts.....

It's stated in the owners manual.

As for the bike, it's a brand new 2019. They are offering some killer deals on specific colors. This one is "Walnut" aka brown. They had a Darkhorse chieftain in white. Exact same options and year, but the brown one was 3k less. She said she can like brown for 3k difference.

Hmmm.... something new in the manual.
Nothing in my 2016 stated that.

It's certainly.... uncommon. You're likely to be on the only one you ever see on the road.

Plus, you could paint underpants on it. Imagine the possibilities!

True, but the dealer courting me did just send me this:

They can't figure out why I'd rather have this:

I keep fantasizing about riding my #ChiefGlide down to Stu's and doing some business with @Bobby Jesus and then pressing on to Key West.

A 10k mile compression check goes in the same category as their 30k mile drive belt change. Ridiculous and just another way to lighten your wallet.

Just a thought -- maybe same printing as a manual for the 116 engine, which was a little iffy when it was a parts option? Maybe an abundance of caution there?

Challenger manual states compression check every 10k miles, I thought it odd too.

Just do it at 5K and don't worry about thereafter.
Theirs many pre-2019 bikes out here that's never had it done and they've got 50K plus miles trouble free.
