He left Chicago and moved to Vegas. His mother still lived in Chicago tho so I’d see him occasionally when he’d visit. We stayed in touch long story short we now live only 300 miles apart. So he calls me Sunday and says hey New York I found a place right about midway between us meet me for lunch and believe it or not it’s a Chicago style eatery. What’s funny about this place is it’s literally out in the middle of the desert with nothing around it for miles. So when you roll up on it it’s actually quite comical kind of like an oasis out in the middle of nowhere. But what really freaked us out was the food was really damn good spot on Chicago style. Anyway 300 mile day great company catching up with my brother and the weather was perfect and the food well that was the icing on the cake. Unfortunately I didn’t time my gas right and needed some LOL oh and they know they got you. Anyways Pete and myself will be doing lunch and getting together a little more often 4090B6D5-FC45-4DB3-B548-FA012692C14C.jpeg

It's awesome that you can see each other more often! It's always great to have a brother back that's been away for a while.

Finally the weather is great and riding nowhere was perfect. Rode east for about an hour, south another hour, northwest for 2. Sure is pretty in the Ozarks during late spring. Todays pic.jpg

Left out Thursday morning headed to the mountains. Went through South Carolina and the tip of Georgia to pick up the Moonshiner 28 and rode it into Robbinville, NC. We stayed at the Iron Horse Motorcycle Camp Ground in one of Their Cabins on the hill side. This place was super clean and well maintained. We got up early on Friday and headed over to the Dragon. Made two runs on it and came back to Deals Gap and had lunch and watched the people and bikes for an hour or so. Got back to the cabin around 2 pm and a little rain set in, which was nice after a few hours of riding. Saturday we went down to Maggie Valley and visited Wheels Through Time Museum, very interesting place, a must see if you are in the area. Got all packed up Saturday night and headed out early Sunday morning for the return trip home to SE NC. Round Trip was about 915 miles, which is tremendous for me and my back. I am ready for the next adventure.

Oil change, chewed the fat with the Master Tech and backroads home.

By the way, the guys were prepping some serious body work while I was there. First time I'd seen a carbon fiber rear fender.

Screenshot_20220521-123944.png Another Epic Indian motorcycle ride. This naked adventure bike has opened up all kinds of possibilities.
Did some killer roads today and about 25 miles of gravel/dirt. Great corners to drift on.
    IMG_20220521_124108952_HDR.jpg

Went off the gravel onto sketchy mountain pass --- steep and lots of loose gravel, but check the views.

Went off THAT onto grass/dirt track until I had to quit because my tires sucked.

Took a ride last Tuesday to get some mileage and pics for the my IMRG Mileage Master contest.
Hit two Tenn State Parks on the trip.

Today, I took the CRF out to check out a Well Hills Park, just across the Tn St Line.
Did about 80 miles. This mileage also counts for my Mileage Master Contest. I have four motorcycles registered for the contest.

I think the structure in the picture used to be an old well pumping station, but not sure.
The trail is a 3.2-mile out-and-back trip, but since I was wearing my Alpinestars, I only went about 100 yards in...

The last two pics were taken in other locations.

J, did they finish resurfacing both Northbound lanes on I-65 ?
Last time I went to MCI on May 3rd, left lane was being worked on, but the right sill looked like a cratered war zone. Only one lane was open in some sections.

I need to go up there on the 11th to get my 15K service done.
    Thx!

Northbound righthand lane around Columbia is smooth. By now the other is probably complete. The widening will take years.

    Today's ride. 75 Miles.
Not long after I got my Bobber, and my friend and I were trying to find a shortcut to AL-65.
Google maps showed Whites Gap Rd going through. Imagine our surprise when this road turned to gravel, then dirt. We stopped before the road went downhill too much.
His bike was a full dress BMW touring. Luckily he had a reverse on it.

Looking at Google Maps today on a laptop, it looks like the road possibly does go through, possibly on to, or passes by some property that looks like a combination Junk Yard/Meth House.

Anyway, here's what was down at the bottom of the hill. This is right on the Alabama Tennessee state line.
