Near Orlando airport. A squadron of these bad boys were stationed there in the 60s.
Went up to the storage unit and put the battery in it. Cycled the fuel pump 3x and it fired right up. Took the long way home to burn off any condensation in the cases.

Rode home today from Hamilton after going to the new Indian dealer opening there,.....More on that later in another post,........While on the desert road I came up to a truck and trailer unit in the slow lane going up a steep incline,.....I was held up by other vehicles and in low gear when I got my chance to past the car in front, changed to second gear and began to move up past the truck unit when a mighty roar belted my eardrums!,....I flicked a look in my right mirror, a VRod was along side me and a low rider in the mirror,....There were cars in the other approaching lane so it was crowded in mine but something went SNAP! in my head and I wound on the throttle, instant adrenaline rush!,.....By now the low rider was past me and hiking past the truck also,.....I was at full throttle and the revs dropped and I immediately knew why! Rev limiter so I changed to third and went WOT again,.....I don't recall but I think we were about level with the cab by then and I was gaining on the low rider fast,.....I looked down, saw I was in third gear and my front wheel was level with the low riders rear at 120 MPH,.....and the mind went SNAP! again,......stop Alpal the thought in my head said to me so I backed off and let them go,......
Strangely enough even though they zoomed past me, they overtook me twice more before Waiouru. Go figure????? I pulled in at the Z service station for fuel and they were at the pumps just in front of me,.....We all filled up and rode into the parking lot and went to pay our bills,.....When we came out the low rider guy said 'Great day for riding ain't it!?' I replied 'yeah but I decided 120MPH was fast enough'. ,......'That's your problem Mate!,....Never look down!,...just keeping going hard!!!' And off they went,.......but I was internally kicking myself because I knew I should have just behaved and let them go,.....That switch in the brain can be so easily flicked on,.......
Wow 193kph in 3rd gear.
