135 miles. ( note to @Baldhead_J ) Heated seat came in handy today : )

Tasting tour at the George Dickel Distillery. They only have 35 people between two shifts producing whisky.

    Nice!
Wish I could have gone, too. I'm 5 hours east and it was dang chilly!
Food looks great! (Bike, too, lol)

Gosh....I visited the George Dickel distillery back in the 80's along with the Jack Daniels distillery.
    Brings back good memories.
Myself and my band of heathens was on our way to Daytona Beach.

Yes, it was around 37-38 in the morning when I left.... I've been riding in between the cold and the rain showers.

Tomorrows supposed to be mostly sunny with a high of 66. I plan to ride somewhere tomorrow by myself, but I haven't decided where to go yet.

152 miles today. Perfect riding weather. I had to stop and take off my thermal shirt halfway thru the ride.

I found this Pioneer and Confederate Cemetery in Beechgrove, TN.

Most of the graves are of Confederate Unknown.

I passed by this downtown area of Normandy, TN last Sat and decided to check it out today.

Then I finally stopped by this old observation tower near Lynchburg, TN. I've passed by this place a hundred times....

Addendum to my last post for those interested in History.

Yesterday, when I was reading this historical marker at the cemetery, the name of the Capt. of the Indiana Battery sounded familiar to me, so last night I did some research on his name.

Sure enough, I was right about who he was. Many of you are probably familiar with the company he started...

Yes if I remember correctly theirs a Ely Lily pharmacutical plant north of Terre Haute Indiana off of Hwy 41. The Indiana connection.
Correction...looked it up out of curiosity and the plant is off Hwy 63 north of Terre Haute and a big presence in Indianapolis also.

I rode to work yesterday and it felt like a vacation. Back to rain and low 40°s today. Ugh.

    Great post!
I do the same thing. Read the markers, look stuff up....
I often mark places on my phone and keep a running list of places to go back and explore.

Finally got out for a ride--- enjoyed the southwest end of virginia on Tuesday
    Screenshot_20210128-085850.png
Had a bonus day of sunshine and upper 40's so I rode down through the Snake. Roads were in good shape and got to enjoy carving some hard corners
    Screenshot_20210128-085814.png
....And I woke up this morning to this view out the front door....
    Screenshot_20210128-085756.png
    Probably not riding today....

That's a great view! I'd love to wake up to that every day.

Ha ha, we have the same M.O. :D

Sometimes I'll be riding to a destination and catch a glimpse of a historical marker or interesting structure at the last second and I don't want to, or can't turn around at the time, so I try to make a mental note for a future ride.

I have few from the last trip uploaded to my Ride Command to check out on my next ride.
