It has been unusually hot here for the past couple of weeks but today it is looking better with highs expected to be in the mid 90's. I plan to make a 70 mile run to visit family. It is just far enough to feel like I have had some saddle time yet near enough to enjoy a quick visit and hopefully a nice sunset on the return ride.
Nothing like a short but sweet weekday trip.

    Where did you ride today?

My scoot is back in Austin right now, and I plan on riding it the 700 miles back to NM early next week. It promises to be a fun trip and a true test of what it is like to ride a silly custom bike across state lines.

I am helping a buddy out by doing some business consulting and also helping him remodel a triplex that he is in the process of buying.

Looking like today will be a rain out. But I will be riding in my mind!

My bike will be moving but the tires won't be spinning and I won't be on her either. I will be thinking about riding a lot during my 30 hour drive. Will finally get to ride the Rockies on Saturday.

I do NOT envy the prospect of a 30 hour drive. When do you leave?

Leaving tonight after work. Probably around 7pm once the NY rush hour traffic dies down. Hoping to be at the campsite in Littleton Co by noon Saturday. That's when check in is.

I try and ride every day if I can. Haven't been out yet today but will be rolling out of the garage in a few. Haven't got a clue where I'm going and for me, those are the best kind of rides.

I figure I've lived a long time not knowing where I'm going or what I'm doing most of the time and have found it that works well when it comes to riding also.

Good thing I didn't have a destination in mind. I pulled out of the garage and started heading south. Got about 5 miles down the road and felt like a baked potato. It's to damned hot! Turned around and came back home. Maybe tonight when it cools down I'll get out and burn off some gas.

Made a quick run from Milton, FL to Ft. Walton Beach, FL to put some curtain rods up at my sister's apt. About 100 miles and hot.

That is a good ride. I miss Seaside. I used to live in PCB right when I got out of college.

I rode 1.2 miles to fuel up and 1.2 miles back home. That was my longest ride of the day so far.

I got a chance to ride a Stg 2 bike several months ago and it was like a different bike off the bottom end. I think you are going to be pleased with the sound and the power gains.

I hope so, it's only been two days without it and I'm going through withdrawals already!

Got to do some overdue maintenance on mine...
I have to align the front to rear wheel and adjust the belt tension.
First I have to change out the jinky front wheel clamp on my lift to a better one from the internet but have to redrill the top plate
to fit the better wheel lock.
