To reply even though I have no dog in this fight.
If I had the extra $ I would own a Scout. I think for the curves that I am moving to well they would be a blast to tear up the roads on a scout and let's not forget those famous back roads around here . Wooly says I cant have one cause i would set it up as a dirt bike and launch myself. ( THAT PROBALLY WOULD HAPPEN)
Also have a lady I ride with and her cross country bike is a hd cvo trike. Her 200 mile let's do lunch bike is a new scout. Funny when we rode to moutain view and back we seen a few. To be honest I was kind of jealous of the fun they was having on that bike.
To most people they might think this is a beginning bike as it is smaller then it big brothers. But weighting in at a little over 500 lbs. With 100 horses and 78 fps of touque... well a beginner might just wet there pants a little on this bike. So even though I would not be comfy packing on a two week trip on this thing. I would love to have one to do a 60 mile as the crow flys( or as Gina rides a two hundred) mile lunch ride.

@Gina ,.....There is a Scout waiting here for you when you come across the ditch after seeing your grandchild in Australia! God willing it will be soon,......

    Yeah, don’t you be disparaging - that’s my job ! ! ! !

FWIW, as a very happy SF owner, I would absolutely LOVE to have a Scout in the garage as well. Awesome bikes, with plenty of amazing grunt.

    Well, kinda!
I sold all my bikes when I went into the hospital for two major surgeries.
2-1/2 years later I recently bought a 1978 GL1000 Goldwing that I am restoring back to something better.
A friend of mine and I drove about 4 hours to a town in far South Texas named Alpine, then drove it home.
I've since torn it all down to the bones and starting to restore it..
I'm still looking for one of the new, but used, Royal Enfield Twins for my regular ride.

Very cool! I loved reading that! You're still in the game and I love that. Don't let it go. Alpine! I love the Alpine area and always enjoy riding through there. I'm just 73 but I've had some issues of late. Besides the $#%^& pain my biggest problem over the past 8 months has been finding a doctor who can diagnose the genesis of the pain. :( I'm heading out in an hour or so despite the pain. Aleve and trying to block it out helps some, as I'm sure you know well.
Keep doing what you're doing, RB, and get back out here and join me on our Texas roads. :)

I started riding motorcycles when I was 60. 2017 Indian Scout.
Now I'm 66 and riding an Indian Super Chief Limited. My only regret is waiting so long to start riding. Better late than never.

Couldn't have picked a better scoot to jump back in on. Ride like the wind, my friend.

That was my first Wing. New off the floor with a Vetter fairing and bags. I was the wise old 20yr old riding an "Old Man's Bike" Riding my 4th Wing now. Still miss the RME too. :-(

As you said, better late than never. Ride far, enjoy the wind, and keep yourself safe!
