What do you all think about windshields/fairings on a scout? I'm going for an east coast style build on this bike. It's a quick release, so I still ride without it a fair amount. Mostly the longer trips I throw it on.

I dig it but I'm a real sucker for the quick release batwing fairing that Indian makes.

I think quick release is great. Anything to block at least some wind on those longer trips.

Not a real big fan of fairings myself, but that one isnt too bad. YMMV and our opinions dont have to match. I did see the Indian molded fairing on a scout once, and it wasnt bad either....so maybe I am changing my mind on fairings. LOL

Some like screens,......some don't like screens,.....some NEED screens,........due to stuffed 6th and 7th neck vertebrae,.......all boils down to personal wants and needs I guess,.....

C5-6-7 all fused in my neck, along with L3-4-5-S-1 on my back. Fairings & windscreens are good for me and I need one. Anyone find a good deal on the Indian quick-release fairing?

Wow, $1000? Too rich for my retired blood. Maybe the Memphis Shades version?

hell!,.......we are almost twins!,.....6th and 7th neck vertebrae fused naturally together after a 'friend' gave me a rabbit killer when I was 13. Lower 3rd, 4th and 5th vertebrae have little between them since failing to take a mark playing AFL footy in 1985?,..6?,.....

And yes, there are many option out there for windscreen other than the OEM one, which I feel is useless,......I have the Memphis Rio Grande on mine,.....suits my 5'10" height well. Dart make a little front screen along with another crowd whose name escapes me,......If memory serves me well,....DON'T buy a National,......I have read here they don't fit,.... @muz I think it was gave a report.

Looks good. Real good. I think it goes better on the scout than the batwing

Wow Alpal me must be twins! I was looking at the Rio Grand last night, because I think it is the tallest shield made- 19"! I think I'll order one when I get back from FL. I've already dropped a grand in 4 days since I bought the bike- and haven't got a great seat yet! :anguished::tearsofjoy::unamused: I've ordered hard bags, reduced reach handlebars, new levers (As one was broken), floorboards & an OEM black seat...All to ride for 2 weeks before we head South for the Winter.

I've got an Indian quick-release screen that came with my 2016 scout sitting on a shelf in my shed. I didn't like the buffeting but it might work okay for someone else. PM me if you want a very cheap near new screen, however I'd recommend trying one at a dealer before buying. (No idea what it would cost to ship to the States from NZ.)

I'm not a fan of the current fairing offerings.

Me, I went with a Puig Daytona III and am quite happy with it. It's got a more retro look too, somewhat similar to the ones on the Springfields.
