Here is what they're competing with:
    Screenshot_20210211-092706.png Screenshot_20210211-094612.png
    Same:
    Wheelbase
    Weight
    Lean angle
    Ground clearance
    Wheel size
    Hp/torque
    Price (abs +$800 both brands)

Indian has one more gallon in the tank, and better reliability.

    I think it's a home run.
2" bigger wheelbase than the Scout--- exact in between a Scout and Vintage.

The Club Style guys will love it.

Me too, but I just don’t see how it’s more of a Bobber than some of the others. I see a bobbed rear fender, but it appears to be the same one that all of them have.

I like my bobbers in the privacy of my home, but will take 'em wherever I can get 'em.

I’m not a fan of the fender treatment at all. With six different trims you would think the bobbed fenders would be exclusive to the bobber models. I would have liked to see a classic styled model with full flowing fenders minus the side fairings.
I’m also not too keen on the exposed neck. A longer, lower tank treatment would look better IMO and perhaps even added a little fuel capacity.
I don’t really get the Chief name being used on a mid-size model but I’m sure glad it uses the Thunderstroke motor.
But overall there is certainly a lot to like on this bike. And maybe somewhere down the road a more classic styled model will be added.

E5E882BA-6719-4D88-84A7-6B95845AD611.jpeg I will be at the demo in a couple weeks. If I like how it feels on the highway I will trade. Only thing is they don't get the bikes until April. Will probably go with the base super chief. I know I posted a picture of the white one

Bobby, what's your thinking behind trading hard bags for soft?

CHIEF BOB 116, that's a good name, nothing to do with the HD model though, hahaha

You trading your Springy or something else.? Now you have my attention SIR. For you to trade your much loved Springfield for the new Chief, that would be something to make us all sit up in our seats. I'm excited for ya, haha.

I like the hard bags. Will miss them. But let's just say I'm trying to keep things simple. I will probably go with the non abs. That along with a simple speedo, no locking bags, no headlight nacelle (a bitch if changing bulb or speed sensor) open fenders (easier to clean) shorter wheelbase and lighter bike. It appeals to me

It's the bike I've been wanting them to build. But It all depends on the test ride. Have some time to think about it. It's nice not making payments though

Agree, I'm glad I put my Springfield sale funds away, even though they slimmed down a bit to the Chief Dark Horse price, haha. I just had one of those happy / sad feelings come over me, haha.

16 inch wheels. not really a fan for that size wheel.would help the scout if they were on 17inch a lot.
So the 19 inch is only one for me , if I have got it right it is only on just the 1 model. Is that correct.
Here in NZ we are only getting 3 models.

Agree. 19 inch wheel is on the Chief and Chief Dark Horse. Australasia is getting the Dark Horse, Bobber Dark Horse and Super Chief. I'd possibly add the headlight nacelle, fork and shock covers, maybe forward controls to the Dark Horse. Pipes, Pillion seat and pegs, sissybar and bags would most likely be aftermarket for me. Never have liked those fat spoked wheels and never will.

Hopefully something along these lines are in the works down the line.
