I think it would be fun to have one. But, really, other than the engine, is there much difference between them and the Scout?

Interesting, the Chief is roughly 855 lbs and the Scout is roughly 558 lbs,.....same numbers only backwards,....oh and not to mention the 297 lbs difference in weight. So not having seen the new Chief I would say there is a ton of difference,......well,.....third of a ton at least,.....off to look at new Chiefs and Scouts now,.....

Now I begin to see what you mean Buddy,......will have to check my weights again!

I'm back and the number is 670 lbs compared to roughly the Scouts 558 lbs!,.....where did all the weight go!!:oops:o_O,.....And a 26inch seat height????,.......This is going to be VERY interesting!!!

The new Chief base model is 670 lbs. Fairly lightweight for the 111 power plant. The Vintage is much heavier.

I wonder also if the lookalike appearance didn't have something to do with the popularity of the Scout world wide,......maybe that played a part in the decision to run with the shape,......just thinking,.....Anyway,....I like them,.....

Comparing to my own world....I'll take the weight of my Sp DH (770 dry/802 wet LBS) and DELUXE suspension over the new Chief - so far at least!

    Cool looking bike though!!!!!

My question: Is the entire line-up 2k too expensive? Feels like if you take $2,000 off each model you'd be competitive with the metrics. I don't understand why Indian is competing with HD, which is suffering a slow demise. Aping the behaviors of a withering business seems counterintuitive.

    Chief/Chief Dark Horse:

    • Black Metallic – $14,499
    • White Smoke – $14,999
    • Ruby Smoke – $15,799
    • Black Smoke (Dark Horse) – $16,999
    • Alumina Jade Smoke (Dark Horse) – $17,499
    • Stealth Gray (Dark Horse) – $17,499
    Chief Bobber/Chief Bobber Dark Horse:

    • Black Metallic – $15,999
    • Ruby Metallic – $16,499
    • Black Smoke (Dark Horse) – $18,999
    • Titanium Smoke (Dark Horse) – $19,499
    • Sagebrush Smoke (Dark Horse) – $19,499
    Super Chief/Super Chief Limited:

    • Black Metallic – $18,499
    • Pearl White – $19,799
    • Black Metallic (Dark Horse) – $20,999
    • Maroon Metallic (Dark Horse) – $21,499
    • Blue Slate Metallic (Dark Horse) – $21,499

Yesterday all I saw was "$14,400", which I think is a fair price. Looking at the adders, etc., I can definitely see your point. Someone I know on MeWe priced a 116" with windshield, bags, etc., and it topped out at $24K, which to your point is a bit extreme (compared to their own product line up).

Will be interesting to see what the market will bear.....and yes, I'm dying to stick a 116" or > in my Sp DH !

I like the lineup. I would go with the super chief. The standard one. I'm fine with the 111

I like the fact the air cooled motor survives to fight another day.
VVT is knocking on the door next.

Indian must be confident that they can meet all emission standards as of now and the next 5 yrs and or longer to have gone with air cool motor. Maybe they have designed the tubular frame so that with little alteration in the future they can move over to water cool if needed.

I'm into the Bobber. Bad name/wrong price though.

The 111 is so dumbed down from the factory it's likely not an issue .

That weight is Springfield or Chief Vintage, not the 2022 Chief.

I’m lookin’ and I’m likin’. I just can’t wait to actually see one in person. and I’d really like to see one next to a Scout, so we can settle the “oh, it’s just another Scout” argument. I’ve heard that one a couple of times.

Exactly. Can we stop with everything being called a “Bobber”?

I’m a big fan of Bobbers so my choice would be............the Chief Bobber.
