My son who just turned 25 yesterday is in the Tech business, he's coming by tomorrow to install duck duck go!....yea!
I have installed Duck Duck Go, literally, just for this website. But I'm slowly starting to migrate to it completely; I think.
I have used Duck Duck GO exclusively for all browser use/needs for a couple of years now. I haven't found a downside yet. It even has cleaned up my Gmail account of bullshit.....a Google affiliate.
Just went to the Apple app shop, downloaded DuckDuckGo for free and let it do its thing and all the ads are now gone. Best 5 minutes I every spent on a app.
Everyone bitchin about Google and how they use your personal data (goes for Facebook too) should watch The Social Dilemma on Netflix (I think it's still available). Actually, everyone should watch it. The show has some ex-big tech staff talking about how big tech abuses your privacy. I learned about Qwant, an alternative search engine to Google, on that show. Just like DuckDuckGo, Qwant is privacy oriented. I'll admit its results aren't as good as Google - it's a matter of how much you value your privacy.
i dumped Google yesterday for Duck duck Go...next thing to go is YOUTUBE.....Youtube doesn't go for Free Speech....
I use Opera web browser when doing transactions. They have a privacy mode you can choose that has a built in VPN. Everything is encrypted. Regular mode is like DDG... No ads.
