Traveler, I was wondering what type of Redneck engineering you had to do to make the Indian backrest fit the ultimate seat. I had the ultimate on my Valkyrie and loved it, so I'll be getting the tallboy for the roadmaster
Yep, it fits just fine and I like the fact it is longer. I need it higher and I was having trouble with it dropping down with the stock seat so with it bottoming out higher it is perfect for me. I bought the Indian backrest but sent it back and got a refund.
My new Ultimate seat came in. Really like the Midrider. I had the tallboy on my previous Chieftain but it sat me alittle to far back, causing lower back pain on longer rides. The Midrider is perfect. I did get the heated option. Wasn't going to spring for it because of the extra cash, but it was the last Tan midrider they had left in stock. I guess my butt will stay warmer in the winter months. As other mentioned the Indian backrest does fit. I took my dremel tool and sliced off a inch and half from the bottom. Now it sits perfect on my lower back. Two thunbs up for the folks at Ultimate seat, very helpful.
I installed my ultimate tallboy Roadmaster seat. I got the second to the last tan one. Much more relaxed riding position. Put on 175 miles. I’m very happy with it.
Would that be one of the places tissue paper can be stuffed to keep nut/washer from falling into the abyss?
Great looking seat. The more miles you put on it the more comfortable it becomes, enjoy. I ended up getting the last Tan Midrider. Talked with the owner of the company, apparently their supplier doesn't carry the Indian Tan matching material anymore. They're in the process of looking for a new supplier, but finding it hard to get a match as good as the previous material.
Maybe I should have kept my Ultimate rather than take a big hit being used. It might have gone up in value being the last of the so closely matched tan seats around. Let the bidding begin kind of thing. Oh well, someone got a good deal at anyway.
As popular as the Indian Tan is, I'm sure Ultimate will find a replacement that will match just fine. When I bought mine I was looking for a Midrider Tan no heat. All they had left was a Midrider with heat, which I originaly thought about getting. Knowing that it might take them a few months to find a repacement tan material or new supplier, probably helped my decision to buy the heated version. All in all I do prefer a heated seat, but was to cheap to pay the additional cost.
Really enjoying the Ultimate seat on my Chieftain so much I ended buying one for my Springfield. I thought I bought the last tan Midrider but apparently they had one more available. I have to say it's one of the only seats I can ride all day without any aches or pains at the end of the day. Another two thumbs up on these seats.
Had Ultimates on my Valkyrie. They were custom made for a man 6-3 and 310. He gave me the stock seats with the purchase. The Ultimates were so comfortable under my 5-10, 180 butt I left them. Yes -- all day comfort.
Ordered a new Ultimate seat for my new 19 Chieftain yesterday. I like the Rogue seat it comes with, but want some heat for the winter months. I ended up custom ordering a black seat, black stiching with no logos. Try to have it look as close to the Rogue as possible as I love the look of it on the bike.
I'd say I'll end up with an Ultimate seat as well.......really wish the heat switch was on the seat though. Think that would be better than a remote.
