    My new Ultimate seat came in just as I was heading out of town for a few days.
    Question; does the trunk have to come off to install it?

    Keep me posted on the ultimate headed that direction or Russell day long but do not want to be without a seat did you order the heat option

    Had the Ultimate on my Cheiftain as well. Loved it.
    I did not order the heated option. Don't really need it and didn't like the way their heated seat works. Uses a remote control. Why?? What's wrong with just a switch?? I'll lose a remote in 2 days:rolleyes:

    My thought exactly the remote in my opinion is worthless are using stock backrest or the ultimate one

    Got the Ultimate. Did some 'redneck engineering' to make the Indian backrest work with the Corbin seat.

    A little late to help you but you don't really have to take the trunk off but it does make it so much easier. If you ever want to though, you just need to remove the accessory plug in the trunk and reach way down thru the hole to the screw and remove it. Best to have someone with their hand up there to catch the washer and screw if it falls. None of my magnetized stuff is strong enough to hold it when I do it. But that's all it takes. Off just makes it a lot easier though. About the same amount of hassle when it comes right down to it as far as I'm concern.

    Definitely have an Ultimate Seat in mind for the CDH , when funds get a bit more healthy ..

    Can't beat them. The Corbin is a nice comfy seat but sits back farther than stock. That's my only problem with it. This Ultimate is the mid-rider and said to be the same as stock. If so I'll be selling the stock RM seat & the Corbin. Will be back home & install it by Tuesday I hope. Sounds like the smart way will be to just take the trunk off & do it the easy way.

    I'd say hold your funds because I'm going to go ahead a replace my Ultimate with a Russell Daylong but mine is tan of course and you'll want a black so could give you a slight discount and save you a little. I've just always wanted a Russell so just going to bite the bullet. Oh well. Not going to happen for a bit anyway. Still waiting for a ship date from them.

    My Mean city Cycles Iron Butt seat mod should be done on 3/15. I’d love to meet someone with either a Russell or an Ultimate and do a sit down comparison after I get it.
