Only twelve words in two sentences yet you summed it up very well BD.

Like my old dog, my Indian sleeps as I sleep. She quietly waits for me to get up in the morning and give her a loving smile and occasionally a pat on the back. She seems to know to be patient and wait for her day to begin when called upon.
Always up for a good run and never complaining about loading up and hitting the road, she expresses joy at the prospect of the wind at her back and the uncertainty of the destination. She is just happy to get outside, to be included, to feel the sun on her face and the touch of a gentle hand.

During our oft times tiring and spirited runs, she never complains. She easily keeps up with the pack, often galloping ahead and taking the lead. Although she is just as content staying with me at the back, in a disciplined deliberate pace she follows, knowing her place and the importance of keeping to the trail and keeping the pack in sight.
Equally content with a solitary, just she and I run, she tirelessly answers to my calling and is mindful of my commands. Commands that can be stern and while not meant to hurt can certainly push her to the edge yet not beyond the scope of her limits. Limits I have yet to ascertain.

Enjoying a playful dance with the elements at our own pace, is where she really shines. Sparring with the terrain, oblivious to all else, yet always aware of the dangers of being away from the comfort of home,

Home, where awaits a good rubbing and soapy bath after a cool down. and some appreciative loving from her best friend. Then a nice nap in the shade of her space in my garage.

My Indian is my other best friend loving me unconditionally and expecting little in return other than a little of my attention which I readily give.

As a moderator, I declare myself ineligible to enter this contest, but just as you, I love my Indian and wanted to throw some words together expressing some of these thoughts.

I love my Indian Scout because it's been the first American motorcycle to have appealed to me enough to be more than the same something nice to look at.
Being left behind by my own country in the motorcycle world has been some times angering. Because I want to be proud and represent my country, but felt I had nothing to represent.. I felt my country also did not represent me.. it made me ride things that sometimes made my own countryman turn on me and that sucks because I love this country. Even though I'm not in the military, I tried, they wouldn't let me join the club. I'm not a sports fanatic, I'm don't like reality TV, or most any thing on TV. I don't game, I'm not religious, I don't think government is the answer, I'm not PC, socially awkward, didn't get along with my family who were like above. I'm not like so many, I never fit in (waaaaah I know
so, as a kid, I loved my bike.. I just rode, that was freedom, that was love, comfort, striving, character building, solace.. got into BMX. I rode all day alone, in groups, in winter, in summer, rain/snow, days they cancelled school because was to dangerous to go,, became an extra day to ride/train, I have damage to my left ear from frost damage to show for it to this day... I just rode....I even was factory sponsored, All my equipment was American made.. I've shook factory owners hands...
then, I started with motorcycles, and there I was again, a man with no ride, not represented, no way to feel that pride of representing something your so proud and thank full of.. no pictures to "hang on your bedroom/garage wall" that was Red White and Blue, besides old glory her self.... I live where none of all my whoas, or faults matters, and is welcomed. It give me opportunities because while I'm so different, I'm not oppressed, I'm in charge of my failings, and success, there's where I am I same as all...It's what makes this Joint awesome, and strong.
I'm an American, and like the America as i define it,, I look forward.. I use the comforts, and wealth of opportunities this Amazing place has afforded me to improve every day, I try everyday to have a better day than last.. I strive to thrive, not just exist. I look back only to see how best accomplish the things above, how to do them better, how to improve, how to be a better person for others, and my Son. I Look to the past, and REVELLE in futures.. I don't do this to dwell, linger or revelIe.. when I do, I do not regret,, I learn.. I yearn to learn. I do that to move things forward, is why I love my Indian Scout.. this bike is American by MY definition of being American.
And not since my bicycle as kid have I felt both pride with freedom or so much freedom with pride..
This is why I love my Indian Scout...
It's Red, White and Blue, and I am too...

My motorcycle life was based around HD for many years. When my back went bad on me I wasn't riding at all. If it felt good, I'd jump on one and before long the vibration and jarring from bad roads would put me back in bed. I even spent more money on a newer model touring HD, bought 3 extra windshields, a seat mod and then a whole new seat. Nothing seemed to help my back or buffeting issues.

Finally in 2013 I made an appointment to test ride a pre-production Indian. The dealership in Lincoln Nebraska was 1,090 miles from my house and they were booked with appointments and people waiting in line for a chance to ride. As soon as our group was allowed out I went straight for a Black Chieftain and set my helmet on it and proceeded to look around at the other models. I would have liked to have ridden a Vintage also but there was just no way. I was right behind the group rider so I got a chance to play around with speed and gear shifting, riding behind a semi and running through some curves. I was sold after that demo ride. I chose to give my opinion to the GM of the dealership and off I went. Now the wheels were turning in my head.

In the summer of 2014 I was able to sell one of my HD's and put up my Road Glide Ultra for sale in the following months. Finally after this person and that person looked at it and not making up their mind I went to Indian of Sturgis in October of 2015 and traded it for a 2016 Indian Chieftain in Silver Smoke that I had to order. When I got home to Montana a couple that looked at it earlier decided they wanted to buy my Road Glide Ultra. I told them too bad because it is gone and I got more from it than I was going to sell it to you for. A couple days later my Chieftain had arrived so it was 587 miles there and back with my new bike in my friends trailer.

In January of 2016 I started getting regular massages and it broke something loose in my bike that did 2 things, one it put me in the ER and 2nd a few days later I could ride with absolutely no problem. The only thing that is extending my riding career now, is the smoothness of the Indian and the comfort I have found. I still had 1 HD, a Road King and last weekend I traded it off for a 2017 Indian Dark Horse that I'll pick up in a few weeks from you guessed it, Indian of Sturgis.

I can truly say that Indian has saved me. I'm a member of a Veterans MC and currently the Road Captain. Myself and the Prez are right up front for everyone to see. My life has changed dramatically and so has my attitude. I went from spending 5 to 7 hours a day in bed to riding over 7,000 miles so far. Indian was my Miracle. Thank you!!

That is so true and I just can't get over how smooth it is compared to my HD's. :)

I think I am 1 hour late...just saw this.......however. I love my Indian Roadmaster because it is the very first bike that has brought a smile to my face with just thinking about riding her! This is from 40 years of owning and riding many, many bikes! This one is just different.

The styling is just right, the power, even stock is outstanding, but the ride quality and handling is second to none in my experience.
