What bothers me about it, is it causes the real family in the minivan, real businesses and real employers, to lump all bikers into this kind of nonsense.

Really labels a place,.....a great place to visit but you wouldn't want to live there.,......

People will remember Renton like that. They will have forgotten why but they will retain the thought that Renton, and other places too no doubt, are not good places to live. Incorrect of course but it's the way our brains work,.....

From the time I was very young, my mother (RIP) would tell me, “as long as there is more than one person on the Earth and each knows the other/s exist, there will be conflict”.

She also taught me that “just because you disagree with someone, that doesn’t necessarily mean you are right”.

One more and I’ll get off my milk crate. “Never live your life to impress anyone, just be yourself. If someone doesn’t like you, that doesn’t mean they are a bad person”.

It is because of how they identify themselves, what they cathect (let inside their ego boundaries and psychologically make part of themselves). A certain percentage of emotionally insecure individuals embrace violent attitudes and physical things -- territories, clubs, weapons, motorcycles, as parts of themselves, and defend against any perceived attack, of any sort, even social slights, with the same violence and ferocity as if their physical lives were threatened.

I admit that's one extreme and I'm at the other extreme in refusing even to brand-identify more than to wear the Indian doorag The Executive Department proudly gifted me (and that only for my own personal Homeland Security), self-identify as a motorcyclist, belong to any club motorcycling or otherwise, or even go on group rides. Whoever or whatever I am, probably sadly and unfortunately, I am me. Just me.

What qualifies you to make the following declarative statement "certain percentage of emotionally insecure individuals embrace violent attitudes and physical things -- territories, clubs, weapons, motorcycles, as parts of themselves, and defend against any perceived attack, of any sort, even social slights, with the same violence and ferocity as if their physical lives were threatened."? And given your experience, is it your assertion that The Lyfers (or any other patchholder) are "emotionally insecure insecure individuals [that] embrace violent attitudes"?

I think you're over your skies, here. I've never understood your anti-biker attitudes or malignant arrogance. But these comments, if I've interpreted them correctly, are pejorative nonsense at worst and ignorant bullshit at best.

You're entitled to your opinion. If you want to defend criminals, murderers, thugs, drug dealers, gun runners, pimps, and the other "one percent" who give the rest of us a bad name, that's your right.

The Executive Department and I will be in Crystal River for a couple of days soon. Might tow Grog, might tow the TOWD. Crystal River is a quiet little place some distance from Tampa Bay, but I think I'll keep an eye on this situation.

Wait, so you're elder, retired, living in Florida, and occasionally riding a Roadmaster...uhm...who exactly do you think "the rest of us" are? I doubt anyone is looking sideways at you, even when you're wearing your "wife approved" doo-rag.
    Carry on typing, tough guy.

IMHO the problem is there is no longer much if any respect for human life, which begins in the womb with the hypocrisy that comes with that. If you murder a pregnant woman you get charged with 2 counts of murder. Kill a fetus in the womb? Ho hum. A society that murders its children will eventually collapse.

BJ, I've openly shown you respect and gratitude for your military service. I've given you open respect for the guts and manliness with which you dealt with your injuries.

    That is all. Full stop.

It just goes to show you the media isn't interested in getting the story right just being first to report it and do nothing but speculate.

In reality, the facts don’t matter when public perception sits in judgment. Look at Waco, the facts didn’t support the prosecution, but those people sat in jail anyway. People lost their jobs, emptied savings accounts for attorneys, etc. They even locked up guys in Christian Clubs. If you want to see the Criminal Justice System fail its citizenry, do some research on that case.
Violence between clubs makes no sense, when there are so many other real political enemies out there.
