Maybe someday we will have the technology to make electric a reasonable alternative. I probably won't live long enough to see it though.

Hydrogen is the only way to go for all cars bikes and machinery.
Team NZ which is the America's cup sailing series currently held by Team NZ have built foiling Hydrogen chase and assist boats for the next cup series. Gone are the big hp outboards.
They must be sure of there stuff as these chase boats need to keep up with the foiling yachts at between 50 to 60 mph.

Yep, that's the guy I was thinking of. I didn't think Edison was quite right but the only name this peabrain could come up with. I could only remember the guy had a good idea that didn't quite pan out and no one has come close since. But maybe they will someday.

I just saw something on the new electric mustang GT. It’s 0 to 60 is only 1/2 second slower then the new corvette. Gotta admit out of the gate some of them are damn quick. The speed thing is not my thing but it’s pretty impressive just the same.

Yes I'm a fan of hydrogen. Unfortunately the Bush Admin caved to the UAW and defunded the very close to being completed hydrogen technology we were perfecting 20(?)years ago......follow the money folks ( in the US, at least ;))

Unfortunately I think the money is followed almost world wide, at least in the so called free countries. The US might be the worst offender, but not alone IMHO.

Agree with you 100%. The electric vehicle era will be short and financially disastrous when the other emerging technologies take hold.
Personally I think the Hydrogen Hybrid model is what we need here in the U.S. We are a very large country and Americans don't like to be range limited.

Trying to imagine the exhaust sound at the traffic lights accelerating from 1000 rpm to 24,000 rpm.

Here's hoping the rains continue to fall to fill your hydro systems because they are awful low at the moment and you are NOT at the peak demand that will be required to charge up all those extra electric vehicles,......

Well it the same here in NZ low water in our dams. last year was the highest level of imported coal. Yes we do not mine coal any longer, and we have plenty of it, only import it. go figure.
