Honestly guys love the rant but it's just our fault for believing a homegrown company can offer us something at a fair price, they charge premium then up-charge for safety features that should be standard on all models and that's the name of the game. The people it really hurts are entry riders like me who are young and looking for a second vehicle they can afford and enjoy why the wife takes the car. The original price already put me under the weather and just to make it the same color as they designed it and include said safety features cost another 3+ grand, wouldn't that be ridiculous, except now its a 1000 dollars more on top of that. I don't want a British Bobber but its looking good about now and I hate that I can't afford the bike I was teased at a similar price to the Scout. Man just throw a kick starter and light on the 750 and release it so I can afford it without extra "R&D" you're not Lockheed Martin getting a contract with the U.S. government we have money that isn't black budget... "clunk"

There's your rant of the day guys!

Thanks for the welcome guys . I am excited to try to sell the Ackrapovic exhaust off mine to try and recoup some costs, you know better stuff is coming in plenty though so probably a hard sale to a guy in California.

I did a Triumph demo day Saturday as one of the demo control riders leading and sweeping the demo rides. It was fun because I got to ride every Triumph they make all day. It was a hoot.

All I can say is everyone is stepping up their game these days. The parallel twin Triumphs sound VERY nice...and they had lots of torque. I rode the Rocket and it was insane. Very heavy...but that motor sounded like an angry Porsche motor and pulled like nothing I've ever been on. Even the Triples were very impressive. I'd have no issue owning a Triumph.

Point being...Indian (or HD) better not rest on their success or laurels because there are some very good manufacturers out there making some damn good products ready to take your money and give you more thrill for less money.

You got that right; my dealer loaned me Triumph when the Scout was in for a service, the salesman doesn't know how close he came to selling me a Triumph without even trying.

Yeah. My current disgruntlement over the FTR has me looking at the new Speed Twin and the BMW R9T (leftover '18). Either comes in well south of the cost of a (completely un-fettled) FTR.
