Last night I replaced the stock headlight and fog light lamps with Sylvania ZXE Xenon HID then took the bike out for a night ride. As posted before by others, they do make a difference in brightness, beam width and length. Pretty pleased with the results; longevity of the bulb to be seen....
Changing the headlight bulb can be done without removing the nacelle BUT it is a chore specially when you wear size 3x gloves........it took me about an hr to get the sucker out.
Also got a J&S jack with the Indian adapters to replace my aging Craftsman. What a great jack this is....

I have done the ZXE Replacements and Quite Happy with them so far .. I run all 3 Lights with the headlight on Low beam 90% of the time and they have held up just fine so far .. Think is a great Bang for the Buck .. This Pic does not do justice to how bright they actually are but was a very overcast day and can see I have my shooting glasses on visibility was so poor ..

I run mine pretty much as you do - mostly on low beam and all three on all the time. I was amazed with the illumination effectiveness of the high beam. It really projects significantly further than the stock bulb.
I hope the headlight bulb will last a while; replacing it is a chore on the Springfield. Used gloves and also wiped the bulb with an alcohol swab so all impurities are hopefully removed from it.

Good to hear! I was skeptical at first after reading some people had to change them at 3 mos but after my ride at night before last with the stock bulbs I had to do something or run with the high beam all the time and that was occasionally not even adequate

Did you change the headlight in the Scout Jay?

Update! Got about 6 months worth of use out of the ZXE lamp. Funny thing is it did not get completely burnt out; just diminished output. Gave me a Check Engine 2350/5 code (low beam open circuit). Put a new lamp in, code went away. Still prefer this lamp over the OEM HID.
