This is an interesting one. I am only 5'8.5" (don't forget that 0.5" - it's very important to me!).

I haven't had any real issues with the kickstand on the SF. Maybe my legs are disproportionate, but it all seems to work OK. There is a bit of a final flick action when I push the stand down to help it get to full extension, but on the way up, it seems quite reachable. I don't really shuffle forward on the tank, it seems more like a slight lean back to extend the left leg a fraction in order to reach the base of the stand.

Anyways, I guess I am saying maybe try a few method changes before spending the cash!

But up to you - of course!

It’s my best half inch mate.

We are not all short - only the good ones...

I seem to recall you are no giant either Alpal. ;)

I'm not even gonna bring my 1/4" into this debate (5"9 1/4"). I'm at the stage in life where I am starting to shrink anyway, so I may actually only be 5'9" now.

@Alpal I'll probably hit ya up for some knowledge if needed once I get going on this project. Right now I'm just trying to keep warm as the frozen white crap falls all over the place and makes riding near-impossible. Got about 4" on the ground now, with another 6" or so forecast from now until sometime tomorrow.

This could have waited until next month ... just sayin'!

I take my hat off to you Guys and Girls who live in White fluffy Land! I simply could not do that. I hate the cold and need to ride,.......

    Agree entirely @Alpal.

I love to go visit the white fluffy stuff and slide awkwardly downhill on my snowboard and then have several beers afterwards ... but living in it - nup!

Give me 365 days of possible riding time - anytime.

My first northern winter was South Bend, '62-'63, when it was declared a national disaster area because of snow. I didn't like that some at all, no. I don't care if I never see another snowflake in the flesh.

He he - the last time it snowed in Sydney was apparently in 1836.

Has it ever snowed in Pensacola, FL???

It snowed twice there when I was a kid in the 70s. I bet @PileOParts remembers it.

The snow just missed my area today by about 10 miles north. Snow in October is unusual around here. It's usually about Thanksgiving when we get the white stuff than it's not much.
Moving when I retire is getting more likely.
Just can't handle the cold and snow as I age...:(

As far as a kickstand issue.....I attribute mine with a size 14 4E boot. It's just awkward period!

Well I ended up buying the extender made by Aeromach. I drilled the kickstand, installed the part and it solved my vertically challenged problem. When it comes to deploying and retracting my kickstand that is. Works well and doesn't get in the way like I thought it might.
