Ya know, come to think of it, mine did a honk thing about two years ago as I was leaving the grocery store one day. It hasn't done it since.

I sometimes get the honk when I put it into first. I just kill the engine and restart it in gear.

Works like a charm. The red security light never comes on again.

I guess I'm one of the lucky ones. I throw my fob in the trunk in when April riding season starts, and take it out in the fall. (unless I'm out of town, and staying at a motel). Roadmaster is a 2016. Changed the battery about 2019, just for the heck of it. Maybe I'll change it this summer.

Yes, it honks when the key fob does not communicate with the ecu. Unfortunately mine at the worse times would always honk twice, 3rd time is shutdown = painful

Probably about half the time I put it in first, right after starting up, the alarm light at least flashes. Sometimes it'll stay on for a few seconds and then a few times (maybe once a month during the warmer months) it'll sound the horn.

It still happens to this day. I just figured the alarm was re-looking for the fob on the first downshift.

Anyway, it always clears if start I start it in gear.

Hope to see you again in Maggie Valley ! !
