Noticed today that on low beam the top projector is lit up. When I switch to high beam the bottom projector comes on but the upper one goes off. Is that the way it's supposed to work??

    Tks, Traveler

Couple of questions please. 1st, since I installed the JW Speaker headlamp I've noticed my dash lights will function properly for a while then they'll start to flutter, then they'll work properly for a few minutes, then they'll flutter again, maybe go out for a short period of time then come back on. No codes, clock keeps time, speedo works properly, etc, etc. This related to the headlamp or just coincidence ?? Putting the stock unit back in place later today to see if that cures the problem.

2nd, on low-beam I have a dark/dead spot from top right to the lower left. This normal??
I thought that by buying the "better" unit I would avoid the problems sometimes associated with such a change but now I'm starting to wonder.

Maybe @Roadie will chime in as he installed the same headlight.

Interesting turn of events this a.m. Always heard when something like this happens go back to the last thing you did or changed. So I put the stock unit back in the bike. Problem with dash lights fluttering gone! I'm a bit hard-headed (others opinion - not mine) so I put the LED back in - fluttering back. no codes, etc; just the center dash lights coming & going. Stocker back in place now until I can sort this out. And yes, my bike is a 2016 - NOT a 2014 with known problems with LEDS until a reflash.

I have not had either of those issues with the JW Speaker evo2 LED Headlight on my 2015 Chieftain

I think I'd let my dealer have a look at it then. There are some known bugs in the electrical side. But like you, I thought those were all with the 14's. I wouldn't rule out a 16 might have one though. The only other option would be to try some known good lights or return the ones you have as questionable. JW Speaker charges enough for them and they are probably the only ones that can test them properly to see if there isn't some kind of power fluctuation going on in them. Sort of the risk you take with aftermarket stuff.

Callwd them Friday. Since I bought it thru a dealer I have to send it back to him, who has to send it back to Drag who then can contact JW Speaker about the defective unit. Lady agreed the system sucked but said that's their pilicy.

Dropped it off at the P.O. yesterday headed back to Calif. Phil's. Phil will send it back to Drag Specialties and we'll see what happens from there.

So, JW Speaker misplaced the lamp for a month! Got a call from a young man there and we discussed the dark lower left corner of the low-beam. He said that was by design so as not to blind on-coming traffic. However turning left leaves you in the dark I told him. SO, for a few bucks more I'm getting their new adaptive lamp. Stand by!

In order for it to be a few bucks more, they had to give you the deal of the century. o_O

Can't wait to hear you review as I've been waiting to hear how the adaptive 8790 performs with our Indian models. I was going to have them done in Biketoberfest but JW did not show up due to the hurricane the week before the rally.

They definitely gave me a deal on a trade-in ... no doubt. They wanted me completely satisfied - that was obvious. EXCELLENT customer svc. Said the new unit should be here 1 day next week so we'll see how this one works.
