Here's a new photo challenge thread, post a photo of your bike in front of a mural. On my recent trip, I saw some nice one. On July 4th Old lumber town
Not technically a mural I guess, and taken before the challenge started, but wanted to share it since taking it, and this looks like a good thread to do so. I pulled off to take a break from my ride back from the Pow Wow, and stumbled across this little public park. The bottom left is signed "Mary Ann Mangel after the works of Robert Lindneux". Mangel may be Margel or Manzel, it's hard to read in the photo. I'll see if I can determine exactly where that park is and postback.
My daughter lives a stones throw from that mural. I was just there before T-giving. Would love to ride those roads in that area.
A challenge!,.....I can do this! Forget the laptop! Suit up and down I go,......there used to be an old picture theatre at one of Martons roundabouts which built down many decades ago. The area is now a lovely area with seats and rise gardens but more importantly a big mural depicting rural Marton. Just what the doctor ordered! Rural Marton,......old style,...... Even some Maori carvings,......but wait!,.....what's that to the left of the totem pole?,....ill be blowed! Another mural! This one was done by Rangitikei College students in 2014,...... Now,.....I know this is not a mural but it's still pretty impressive,......a bunch of very skilled Rangitikei College students playing their FAVORITE sports,.......why would Alpal include this pic?,.........you may have to enlarge it to figure it out but I know @thumper will get it!......Hah!!! Alpal
Hah!,.....I bought two new tyres to get rid of the Kenda's but I figure the rear tyre had been left in the shop window and had hardened,.....it slipped even in the dry so went and got my old favourites Continental Milestone Tours for the tread pattern I trust,....trouble was, the only way to get that tread was buy a whitewall,.........the front is ok so I'm riding like mad to wear out the front to get another Conti,......even free I think the freight would be more than a new tyres here,........unless you have a friendly international airline pilot in your pocket!
