Yeah, it’s super easy. Just Bluetooth link it to your phone and listen to whatever you want. But, I do like the convenience of my Chieftain’s sound system though. The speakers are really loud, and I wear earplugs when I ride.
I said the same thing about never owning a bike that wasn't water-cooled and shaft-driven, but here we are. We all make some adjustments as time goes on... and yes, I know I could've had those two things with a Challenger, but, at double the cost, where my cost was already stretched well over my initial budget. Have you looked into a simple bluetooth set in your helmet? Wife and I both swear by our Sena units, great passive music so I can still hear everything but electric cars coming, plus we can talk to each other - "Hey, did we miss our turn?" "Nah, next light" without needing to take our eyes off the traffic. I think the only thing that annoys her is when I get to cussing up a storm at some cager sitting still at a green light or straddling lanes when I'm trying to get around them. Best, -Odin
I don't EVER want my wife in my helmet. On it, but never in it. Hand signals and paying attention keeps my ride enjoyable.
You could always "Oops, I hit the intercom button when I was adjusting volume" - I hear what you're saying, but when the immediate "Hey, look out for that car coming in from your blind spot" needs to get through, it gets through...
