My first thought would be an exchange for a different bike.

It will never be the same, I would want a new bike but you will likely not get one unless you continue to have problems with the bike.

I could tell a story about something similar but I have to be careful what I say as Indian and dealers do monitor these threads...

I'd demand a swap. I'd be literally infuriated.

Happened to my 2017 RM after a year.Kept looking for a hidden Harley stamp somewhere. Fixed under warranty. Traded later for a year old but still new on the floor 2018. Still have it and no problems.

I’m going to need something to ride if the dealership has this bike for more than 24 hours. I just paid $40k for a bike, it is NOT going to sit in your warehouse while you “wait for parts”.
So if an identical bike is not available for me to ride while I wait, you are going to have to exchange the broken one.

How a oil leak got by quality control is a mystery.
This might be a simple fix. Bad gasket, pinched gasket, no gasket.
Got to give Polaris the benefit of doubt until proved otherwise.
A long wait is not acceptable!

    Bobby,
Hope your oil leak experience with Polaris is better than mine. Wont beat the dead horse again but dumped my 16 RM because of it. Daytona Indian was also guilty.

Definitely an assembly line thing I’d say. Not like replacing a primary gasket. But again it is under warranty. I doubt they replace the bike…. But I’d prefer they do

That sucks …man I’d hate to be in that situation. I can hear them now “ NO PROBLEM ITS UNDER WARRANTY “ It will probably be ok but that complete tear down on a new motor would not comfort me honestly. I would find more comfort in a brand new crate motor being installed

Honestly, it's probably totally the technically right thing to do. It just makes you feel like shit, as a customer.

have to admit if it was me it would water down the thrill of buying a new bike,.......would there always be that doubt in the back of your mind that this could happen again,......the only one telling anything is "time" I guess,.....

@Bobby Jesus ..that’s good but honestly under warranty what choice did they have. I figured as much but pulling a new motor completely apart and putting it back together would still make me wonder on the experience of the mechanic doing this job. Personally it Probably wouldn’t get anywhere but I’d still prefer a new crate motor

@Bobby Jesus ... did the mechanic comment that he found the issue and fix it?

I'd have to have a new bike. For me, this would be absolutely unacceptable. I'd be all over the internet letting people know how poor the company was treating its customers.

The proper thing for Indian to do is to give the guy a new bike. Then they can fix this one and sell it as a refurb. If I were running the dealership, I'd have to reconsider my relationship with Indian.
