I think they're getting desperate over at HD.
Imitation is the highest form of flattery. Or so I've heard...
Here's something I didn't notice the first pass through the website. Take a good look at the wording used.
For a company that dislikes Indian motorcycle they sure like to use Indian branding and parts naming.
It's juvenile at best. Don't know if they are desparate but dang there's some ugly bikes there.
That Fatboy is one sweet looking bike !....
None of them are as Dark as MY Dark Horse!
Are you sure YOU didn't change that wording in Adobe Illustrator or something?
Nope. It's legit.
Yes, yes it is. Though a Dark Horse, it is NOT.
This is a Dark Horse .. They are also calling them Freedom Machines like the Victory Freedom Engine ..
2018 Harley-Davidson Softail Cruisers Tech and Development
Styling and profilin there Jay! WOOOOO!
Seems I have heard that terminology many times over the last couple years but darned if I can remember where..... oh wait... that would be from the Indian Line LMAO...... seems that as the old saying goes, imitation is the greatest form of flattery so Indian should be flattered
Oh come on people. Just where do you think Indian got the "Dark" idea from in the first place? This is standard add copy one upmanship.
Frankly, I went and rode one. That Heritage Softail might be my next bike a couple years down the road. Its a Damn Good motorcycle. And thank you Indian, for providing the competition to generate bikes like these. It also shows there is a Massive Hole in the Indian line up that cannot be filled by a touring framed "Cruiser".
Cannot wait to see what Indian responds with.
Dude you better stow that common sense and reasonable thinking. The haters are tracking you now!
The truly First Production Blacked out Model I remember other than a few models that were less Flashy and some of them modded for a Darker Look with Aftermarket Parts was the HD " Night Train " That Caught my Eye Anyway ..
HD has had the "Dark Custom" line for over a decade now. I had a 2008 Night Rod out of this line, as well as a 2013 Iron 883.
Yeah, But they didn't call them "Dark Horses" before.
Add copy one upmanship "You have Dark Customs, we'll have Dark Horses."
"Oh yeah, well if you have Dark Horses, we'll have Darker Horses!" You can almost imagine both ad teams giggling as they make up this stuff.
That's okay, Mines Darker.
