Well. My little guy is off to boot camp. I’m so proud. But I’m gonna miss him.
They grow up too fast.
I'm grateful to him for volunteering to protect the freedoms that we enjoy. Prayers for a safe and peaceful enlistment.
I honor his service and fortitude to do so. Well done, Bobby; you've raised a good one.
Be Proud .. Not going to say how long ago my oldest son did this other than was right before Desert Storm ..
Thanks guys. Your words of encouragement mean a lot. And yes, he is a good one.
Thanks for his service. They do grow up way too fast. He has chosen a noble path as his father did before him. The apple, as they say.
You wonder as a parent whether they're listening to you over the years.
It's obvious he did.
Good job Bobby. Wishing nothing but the best for the wee one.
As a vet and father I fully understand both your pride and apprehension. If you know in your heart you’ve done the best that you could do then take solace in it. Looks like a job well done. Good luck and safe travels for your son. Summer is not the best time for boot camp. I’m sure he’ll be tested. (Ask me how I know. )
So, you went through boot camp in the summer?
I know exactly what you mean man...thank him for his service to our Country...Here's my youngest in Japan...
Another honorable young man. Whoever said the younger generation is lost needs to meet these two.
Hi Bobby. Tell him thank you from those of us who served to the next generation like him that are serving. It is nice to know that there are young folks out there that still get it and will be the next to take up the gauntlet and protect our future. GREAT JOB DAD!!!!!!!!
Yes. Fort Jackson SC in July. It may not have been hot as hell but close to it. There were no sport/hydration drinks back then. All we had was water and salt pills. Being from Fl. I was used to the heat/humidity. Guys from northern states, not so much but the services are much more aware of heat issues today then they were in the 60s.
He will be in cape May. It gets hot but they are right in the water so it should help. Btw, you guys have said some nice things and I thank you. Not only for your kind words but for your service. God bless all of you.
@Bobby Jesus, All blessings and safety to your son. You obviously did it right. Thankful America has a few of these left in this horribly politically correct foul society we live in now.
You are a proud Father and you deserve to be. My respects to you and to him. I so understand the “hard to let go”. One of the tough turnstiles in life.
We got a “head” start. He figured they were going to do it anyways and wanted to get his scalp used to the sun. His swim buddies took turns.
I love all the Services, but those Sea Services hold a special place in my heart. Good job raising him, and I appreciate his service.
Was able to get a look at my boy last Sunday. Sunset parade in cape May. USCG posted it on Facebook. He sure looks different. So proud
