so I have noticed the gear number display at times is incorrect or not showing. Is 5is a common issue?

There's a recall on the indicator.

Hey, I just noticed that this the Scout Forum. The recall I know of is for the TS-111 bikes. I can't speak for the Scouts. Luckily, @muz , @Rodd , @Alpal , @ScoutBobber49 , and others will help you.

Mine is a 2016 Scout and I haven't seen that problem. Unless you're talking about what happens stopping in 2nd or 3rd gear and then changing down. In this case it doesn't reset till you get moving again, but then it indicates correctly.

A Gear Indicator is handy and might consider one if was cheap to do so .. First One I ever had was on my 2012 Victory unless consider the 6th Gear Green Light Indicator on my 2009 Ultra .. I do miss my Tire Pressure Monitors though was nice reading them although still verified at least once a week ..

    There is no "gear switch".

The Scout borrows the exact same method Victory used.

The computer calculates the gear by the speed and rpm.

That's why you must be moving. Slip the clutch just right or pull it in and you can fool the computer occasionally.

I believe I've seen that same issue when not shifting down properly like you stated.

@Rotary Is that the situation when you see that error?
