Figures 32 and 43 are interesting. These appear to be two different bikes. The text calls 43 an alternative to 32.

Have we heard any good numbers for the new bike? That fuel tank should be bigger than the one on the Scout.

This is a patent application for a modular motorcycle. This would allow for the swap out of parts in order to meet specific riding criteria. For example, if a cruiser/touring was desired, a larger gas tank might be swapped in. If more performance oriented perhaps a smaller (lighter) tank and larger airbox swapped in.

Interesting concept, but this is an application. I've been told by patent attorneys I've worked with in the past that almost always the application gets rejected and more details must be provided to support the claim. This document seems general in nature which is what you would expect.

There are some other modular machines out there as well: BMW RnineT, Ducati Scramber,

I doubt the tank will be much bigger than the Scout. You all are so freaking hard on the Scout for it's range. 125-150 miles to a tank is all that platform should be putting out. I would expect that a hooligan bike will be in the same vein range-wise.

    FZ-09 / MT-09 Miles per tank:
    120-135 miles

Ducati Scrambler 1100 miles per tank:
    ~144 miles

KTM Super Duke R miles per tank:
~180-200 miles (keep in mind this is a 4.8 gal tank)

    BMW S1000R miles per tank:
    ~150-160 miles

My Suzuki SV100N got 100 miles per tank. And you better be ready to stop for gas when you get close...there was little or no reserve.
