Looks like I get to find out if the 1st Run 5 year warranty covers fork seals ... she's a bit messy this morning.

Covered with a $50 deductible. Parts are in stock. Guess I have to go hang out at the dealer for a few hours on Saturday.

Two things,.....you gotta pay 50 bucks up front on a warranty job?

And secondly, I take it you have not put new springs in the front, judging by the the high tide line on the inner tube?

Yeah, on the 1st Run 5 year "extended" warranty there is a deductible. Probably true of any "extended" warranty you would buy with a bike. I don't know for sure as I have never bought an extended warranty on a vehicle, ever. This one came free and if the $400+ job can be done for $50, well ... I can do $50.

No, I haven't replaced the springs yet. Been working on eliminating some debt prior to spending much of anything on toys right now.

As you say that 50 bucks will be the best you have spent in a while and I can assure you the 100 odd bucks spent on a set of Ikon front springs will amaze you with the improvement to your ride.

( I'm guessing a 100. I got a set from Darkscout for my second Scout and they were about 175 Kiwi so working backwards to US dollars is? ,.......)( pretty sure you get them from Jethro's Parts, ( member here) but don't ask for Jethro,......he's the dog!,.....)

I thought the dog's name was Indiana ...

Once I get my financial ducks in a row I'll look into the springs and rear shock replacement. Hopefully before the summer season gets up to full speed.

I've heard of that stuff. I think I even used some of it on both the Scout and the Vintage ... 2 years ago maybe ... ?

I've heard rumors to that effect and have been wanting to get 'er done, but I need a bit more "gig money" in my pocket to make that happen.

Well, it has been about 2 years since I've been to the dealerships in town. Last time out I brought a new Vintage home.

    Should I be worried? ;)

I was still in love with my '15 Roadmaster when I took it in for the 10k service last summer. Still managed to come out of there with a '17 Roadmaster. Doh!

Yeah, it's an affliction. I went to the motorsports dealership over on Parker Rd. one time back in 2010 to see if they had a certain helmet I was interested in. They didn't, but they had a 5 year old V-Star 1100 Silverado with less than 1900 miles on it for under $5k that I ended up riding for 6 years.
