Got new Michelin tires on the scooter yesterday and it handles better, the rear only gets about 6,000 miles so I’m changing it every other month ! Cooler weather coming as Fall season is here, time to layer up the clothes for the morning rides ! Larry

 

Time to take that thing "Darkside!"

 

Mine is in the shop getting a wheel bearing on the rear and they're checking out what is triggering the abs light.

 

Oh Bummer!! I hope it isn't too bad.

 

They said in most cases it's the speed sensor.

 

Here's praying that's not too expensive.

 

I can't walk out of that place below $1,000 usually...lol

 

YIKES!! Although I guess my last trip to get ready for the Texas trip was about that too.

 

Dealerships are going crazy with prizes, indeed. I've stopped taking mine to the local dealership altogether, since warranty ran off.

 

I had bought a rear speed sensor years ago having the same intermittent problem but it started working again so I returned the part. It functioned fine for years afterwards. The speed sensor was also interfering with the cruise function. Never did identify the culprit, just assumed debris was the probable cause.

One day after getting the new tires on my scooter, the Kevlar drive belt blew to pieces and intermittently locked the rear wheel at 60 mph as strands wrapped around the rear pulley. Only 16,500 miles on the belt,,,, it was fishtailing bad but I stayed off the brakes and got pulled over safely. Still waiting for a clutch base plate that got ruined, back ordered for at least a month. So I found something a little bigger to ride and I’ll get a pic of it maybe later today. My lateral mobility has improved some so a little bigger scooter was purchased on September 14th !

 

That horse tried to buck you. You wasn't going to have any of it....

It was the speed sensors causing intermittent light on the abs. The mechanic shared that with me before he performed the work. In that conversation he said where in the world do you ride that bike? I started laughing, pretty much anywhere I think the bike can go. He said he's never seen so much grime and build up of road tar, dirt and grit in his life. Guilty as charged! We're all good now. Didn't get to take it to the Smokey Mtns for the wedding we attended last weekend do to the hurricane weather/rain. It was a mess down there. Please pray for those folks....a lot of desperation in some cases. Donate for the cause if possible.
