I went down when I hit an invisible slick chemical spill on a concrete on-ramp loop onto an interstate in Jackson, MS and slid for awhile. Bike took a lot more damage than I did. Last I saw of it it was in mid-air tumbling. However all it needed was a new handlebar, repair of a large dent in the tank, and probably a small item or two I don't remember. 1979 Suzuki GS850. I got a bit of road rash. I don't qualify to be on the list here.

I hated reading this Larry. I still feel like I’ve lost a piece of myself since mine got totaled.

Did this to my leg in June ‘18, laid the Chief down after some ass-hat turned left in front of me in an intersection. Got the bike totally fixed & leg 1/2 healed in time for Sturgis two months later!

Other leg broke at ankle, 4 ribs also whiplash + road rash
Totalled the Road King and killed the bear.
Hit at 60 mph...lucky to be alive.
I was still on crutches when I put downpayment on 2016 Dark Horse

You light up a metal detector when passing through one don't you.
    Did a number there!

That’s true @thumper it is with mixed emotions that I think about upgrading. Lots of good times on that bike.

I sat on one yesterday. Pretty impressive. But I may lean a little towards getting a good deal on a leftover 19 RM

I feel the same way regarding my Springer Classic. 8 years, 112,000 miles and two Hoka Hey’s. That bike and I went a lot of places together. I think if I could find it, I’d try to buy it even though I may not be able to ride again.

I get what you mean Thumper. I have an 04 Electra Glide I retired from the road in the summer of 14. Bought it new and covered 48 states with and a lot of good memories. It sits next to my indian with 160g on her. Take her out occasionally but just can’t seem to part with her.

Dealer estimate to fix the bike is at 19K. That kind of surprised me. I believe it will be totaled by the insurance company. Might be a good deal for someone on Copart. I'll let you know if/when it gets listed.
