Don’t know if any of you like to do dual-sport riding, but recently I picked up a new to me 2017 Honda CRF250L dual sport bike in showroom condition from a friend who cannot ride anymore.

So now I have another dual sport in addition to my 85 XL350R, except this one is easy to start (magic button) and should be stone reliable.

Lately I’ve found some gravel roads in the southern Tennessee and north Alabama area and have been exploring them. Having a blast checking out the back country and taking lots of pictures.

Here are a few pics from the past two weeks.

I have a distant family member that owns a shop up north....had tons of success in the flat track circuit....and swears by that bike. There are a couple "go to" mods that really make that bike come alive...per him and his experience. Home Pro Cycles Clifton Park, NY (518) 373-0151 Good luck with it and glad you're having fun. Thinking about making a bike move in that direction too......

That would be a blast! I'd have to keep reminding myself I'm 60 years old so I don't ride beyond my capability....

Yes, old guys like me still have a habit of calling them Enduros, but the Cool Kids call them Dual Sports. Of course that was the name Yamaha gave their bikes back in the day I've given in to the Dark Side....

    Here's my 1979 Yamaha DT125 Enduro which I still have. 1979 DT125.png

That bike is in great shape @ScoutBobber49
I'm trying to remember Honda's version....it was a 175 cc bike. A kid from the next neighborhood would ride over to ride with us in our section of woods. Pretty bad ass bike for it's time.

Love those old Yamahas.....look calm and sedate until you crank the throttle!

It could have been one of these street legal versions depending on the year. XL175 or XL185. Those engines were bulletproof.

I had the dirt only version (XR185) I bought for my wife back in our desert racing days.

This was it. I don't believe it was street legal.

Yes, I remember those. That would have been significantly faster than the XLs and XRs

I had a street-legal XL175. It was my primary transport after Valentines day until Thanksgiving.
