I have been searching the interweb and I am interested to know how many miles Burt Munro had on his Indian Scout when he broke the land speed record. I know his bike was extensively modified (and remodified) but I’m curious about how much the old girl had on her when she screamed into the history books. Does anyone know?
Not sure there's an simple answer to that question. A look at Burt's workshop will tell you that some parts of the Scout went further than others.
I figured there were parts left on the wayside along the way. I understand he rode it all his life since he bought it ( with his affection spread around other bikes along the way,). But from your 20,s to your 60’s I would expect a boatload of miles if he kept the odometer on it. ( They’re so heavy, ya know).
