    Apologies for
1-having been gone for a while
2-coming back and kicking up the dust
3-if you read this *cough* elsewhere

But honestly, WTF is Indian thinking? $4500 extra for paint, badging, spoked wheels, a "beach" handleber and an azz-busting solo saddle?

What the heck did I miss while I was gone? Did the factory suffer massive destruction from an Iowa earthquake or tornado and they have to make up the repair cost?

[sarcasm] They are thinking that they are happy to sell you a "custom" bike for the same price that you would pay to put those parts on yourself. The bonus is that you wouldn't have to worry about storing or even selling the stock parts to recoup some of that $4500. Win/Win [/sarcasm]

Just like any maker of goods, they will make anything they think people will pay money for. Hype the crap out of it, and If people will pay money for the Anniversary Edition just to "have" it, then they will sell.

I'm still good with ol' #500. Probably will be for another 5 to 10 years.

Collectors bike, not. Flashy paint on models or 19" inch wheel, slightly larger motor, black it out a bit and name it a Dark horse model, Meh, all cosmetics. bring out new models. Have to give credit on the Challenger, they nailed it and put a lot of new design effort in that one. As they did for the FTR but unfortunately they designed a motorcycle that the majority wouldn't want or couldn't afford. Design team need to get back to what they were doing when they originally designed the Scout and Chief models.

The FTR design is solid. The price point is just unbearable.

I didn't pay that much for my gold pinstripe. In fact, they copied my bike and raised the price. DSCF0622.JPG
