    When: Thu, June 15 - Mon, June 19, 2023
    Where: Maggie Valley, NC
    Host hotel: Holiday Motel

All rooms are blocked for us. Must register to receive codeword to reserve a room.

    Registration is OPEN!.
We are a small-ish ( 70-90 bikes, 70 - 100 attendees) gathering of like minded riders who enjoy a layed-back, informal, no-drama, get together in the heart of the greatest roads east of the Mississippi. Event is NOT affiliated with this or any other forum.

Registration and more information can be found at website: Tribal Thunder

Registration price has been simplified, but basically - $55 per bike rider, $80 for two-up. (Note: if registering/paying by Paypal, a $2.50 fee is added). Children under 12 free. This includes a catered BBQ dinner, pool party, plus much more. We are non-profit. Any income over expenses goes to local charity (in the past we donated to Cherokee Nation, and Boy Scouts). Like before, ordering of T-Shirts are separate and extra, and shipped directly to you..

Join us for 4+ days and nights of fun, brotherhood/sisterhood, BBQ, fireside socials, games, pool parties, and more. Make new and lasting friends, or catch up with old friends from Pow Wows past. Our host hotel (A Holiday Motel) is a favorite among bikers, in Maggie Valley, owned by great people who also ride. Rooms are inexpensive, an old school motor court motel, and has an outdoor pool, picnic tables, fire pit, and more. We'll have a large tent set up to provide shade from the sun or hide from the rain.

The Blue Rdge Parkway (BRP) is only 4 miles away. Cherokee and entrance to Smokey Mountain National Park is 15 miles away. Nearby are legendary riding routes, including, Tail of the Dragon, Cherohala Skyway, the Snake, the Rattler, the Moonshiner, the Diamondback, and a dozen others. We'll have organized rides for both advanced and novice skill sets. Each group will be limited to 10 people max, for comfort and safety. Multiple groups may go on same route to accommodate popular choices.

    Registration Includes:

    • Smoke Signals Party - catered BBQ Dinner, Prizes and Awards
    • Landing Party - Cookout & Outdoor Movie - "Easy Rider" in HD
    • Peace Pipe Social - campfire, beer, cigars and 'Smores' and tall tales
    • Pool Party - Pizza, Beer & Outdoor Movie - "World's Fastest Indian"
    • Pow Wow Token
    • Smudging of the Bikes - a Sacred Native American Ceremony
Host Hotel Info – Holiday Motel, Maggie Valley:
The entire hotel has been blocked for our event - ONLY 24 rooms are available, so book early! Cost is $80 - $90 per night. Room reservation are cancelable up to 4 days before event. You must register for the event before you can reserve a host hotel room (done by special website access, which I will send to you, OR by hotel code displayed after registration payment). Two other hotels are across the street with normal reservation procedures and pricing.

Registered and working on the room now. Couldn't come last year because we had already planned a trip to the Dragon a week or two after this event. We said we would definitely make plans to come this year. Looking forward to this event.

IMPORTANT NOTE: - For those who attended last year AND stayed at the Holiday

If you got put on list to reserve your room for this year you MUST register and then call hotel to reserve your room BEFORE FRIDAY. Hotel will then release remaining rooms to all other attendees who have registered. Also, you must register to receive an "authorization code" to use when reserving your motel room (that is for everyone).

So far I have 40 folks registered - that is 40% of our sell-out limit. Act soon. Event registration is cancelable up to May 1st. Motel up to June 10th.

I have been silently waiting on the Alternate list, fingers crossed to get a room. They said they would email us today if we were or were not able to get a room. They said most likely we would get one. Even if we don't we are still going. We will stay across the street and jay-walk across to the festivities!

Those who signed up last year for a room this year were notified, several times, to register. Today I arranged for all remaining rooms to be released for those who registered. So if you are on waiting list, you should g et a call from Rob soon.

All rooms are still blocked for our event (the whole motel). Any remaining blocked rooms will be released in early May. Last year we sold out the motel entirely. I expect the same this year.

    So register now!

I was watching Moonshiners last night - one hilarious show. One segment is taking place in Maggie Valley. In one scene a guy name Mike ( he wears the hat with the coonpeckers in the hat band) and his partner are looking for 2 other shiners who they think are invaliding their territory and for one brief second you can see them driving past the big yellow sign in front of The Holiday Inn Motel.
