Are you going?
What are you going to do while you are up there?
All my buddies have canceled.
I imagine a good number will still go though,.......
I plan to be at the Iron Indian Riders reunion in Russelville, AR in about 11 days. I suspect after riding around there for 4 - 5 days I'll probably have enough riding in my blood for a while. I will probably be able to resist the temptation to Sturgis a few days later.
But geewago,.....I was gonna ask ya to get some pics for me,.....,.....come on Mate, Buddy, Pal,,,,,,,What's another couple thousand miles!, or however far it is,.....You'll have a ball!!
My little flip phone takes pretty good pictures. I just haven't ever even tried to figure out how to post a pic from it.
,..Just go,....take the pics and figure the rest out later!,....Ataboy!,....Regards,
Doubt I ever go to Sturgis again during the Rally Week .. I enjoy the Rides and Local people there but during Bike Week all people see is dollar signs and prices double , sometimes triple and while I realize they should make money , not fond of being gouged to that degree when it costs me enough just to get there and back with about 4,000 miles round trip if don't ride any extra good rides in Wyoming and Montana .. Last time I did it was close to 6,000 Miles Round Trip .. If I do go up that way again will be at least 2 weeks before or after the Rally ..
I just don't like the massive crowds during Sturgis and that means too many idiots to deal with. Black Hills riding is fabulous but not during this rally. Agree with JayFL459 that price gouging is a major factor to make me avoid the rally. Also, many under experienced, under the influence and and non practiced riders on Rental motorcycles makes Sturgis a big candidate for accidents.
Last time I was there for the rally was 1993... I thought the prices was to much then, I would hate to see them now. I have been back serval times about two weeks after the rally, much more enjoyable for me. Prices are cheap or should I say reasonable. I don't have to wait hours to get table at a restaurant, all the goodies are now on sale. And the part I love, there are far less drunk riders on the roadways.
Now do not get me wrong I think everybody that rides should do a big rally at least once. Then go back and do the same area when it is not going on to truly enjoy what started this rally.
Another note the MMs was so-pose to have convention here, was postponed and then canceled. To say I was POed is an understatement, to arrange a vacation in my busiest time of year is like pulling teeth. To do it twice well, I don't that has ever been done in the history of the company. And then after all that to be canceled. Lets just say my reaction was less ladylike and more sailor like. My entire crew stayed away from me for two days. (smart boys)
So Jay . . . let me know if you want to plan a trip for 2021. I am of the same mindset and would love to meet with (again) and ride the roads out there.
Quinn, I am in the planning stages for a trip out next year for the week before. Lets keep in touch.
Did the rally in 2012, enjoyed it from a bucket list perspective but not the 500k best friends that were there also .
Excellent! On my planning calendar now. We can detail plans at 2021 Pow Wow if you come to that again.
I'm in !!!!
Here's one for ya, Alpal!
Wow!,.....,....So you got there early then?,.....
Yeah 'bout 5 years ago. I'm always near here.
Getting warmed up!
